Guide: Service Reviews
Independent reviews of financial services available in South Africa: loans, investment platforms, and banking services.
This section covers reviews of financial service providers that fall outside a single loan category — digital banks, investment and savings platforms, insurance comparison services, and other consumer finance products operating in South Africa.
All credit-related providers reviewed here must be registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR) under the National Credit Act, while investment and savings platforms that hold or invest client funds are typically regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). Banking services are supervised by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and the Prudential Authority.
Before using any financial service, confirm its regulatory status directly on the NCR (ncr.org.za) or FSCA (fsca.co.za) public registers — a legitimate provider will have a registration number it is willing to share, and will never guarantee investment returns or approve credit without any affordability check.
Our reviews are based on publicly available information from each provider's own disclosures and the relevant regulator's public register, and are updated periodically to reflect current terms.
